The Sketchbook Project: The Greatest Story Ever Told
Many moons ago I decided to finally dip my toes into the world of watercolours, particularly because I was infinitely inspired by Katherine Cheng's incredible watercolour pieces.
I purchased some water soluble crayons from Caran d'Ache (at the time, Katie's medium of choice) and signed up for The Sketchbook Project, a 'museum' for sketchbooks filled with artworks created by artists from all around the world.
The topic I chose was 'The Greatest Story Ever Told', and my immediate thought was to create children's illustration pieces; watercolour is such a magical medium when used in story books. In my sketchbook, a little robot named Kyo came to life, I really had fun on this project!
I still enjoy picking up a brush occasionally but apart from a few pieces for my daughter's bedroom or gifts for friends, I haven't been able to dedicate the time to create many more pieces, but I would love to get into it again in the future.
